Deirdre Burke – Principal

As the principal of the firm, Deirdre Burke, has a strong and proven history in the area of family law and civil litigation. She applies the philosophy of her practice - effective listening, practical solutions - to all areas of her work, adopting a client and child centred approach to legal disputes and practice. She has 15 years experience working in family law and has been described as "decisive, supportive,and perceptive".

Deirdre is a member of the Family Lawyers Association, the Association of Collaborative Practitioners (Irish & International), the East Coast Collaborative Lawyers Group, and a member of South East Collaborative Family Law Solicitors.

She obtained an honours degree in Law from UCD in 1991, qualified as a Barrister in 1994, and later as a Solicitor in 1999. She established her own firm, D.M. Burke & Co., based in Arklow, Co. Wicklow in 2004.

Deirdre is a trained Family Law Mediator and operates her own independent Mediation Practice

Her core values are family, integrity and support or people. She believes strongly in the process of Mediation as an alternative to Court for family law disputes. Her priority in dealing with family law over the years has been to listen to her clients and to achieve practical workable solutions, bringing the person through the process in one piece. Her family law experience is a valuable tool in any family law mediation.
